Culturally Rooted and Relational

Caring for the land is part of who we are. We are building capacity by training our team, forming partnerships, and seeking resources to support wildlife and fire management. Guided by traditional knowledge and respect for the natural world, we work to restore balance to the prairies and strengthen our role as caretakers of the land for future generations.

Fall biochar field day promotes conversations, teaches benef

Blue Heron Tióšpaye hosted a biochar field day on its land in Seward County to support education and collaboration around eastern redcedar management and sustainable land stewardship. The event brought together researchers, landowners, farmers, and conservation partners to explore how converting removed eastern redcedar into biochar can improve soil health, enhance water and nutrient retention, and support long-term ecological and agricultural sustainability. Hosting the field day aligned with Blue Heron Tióšpaye’s mission to steward land responsibly while honoring Indigenous ecological knowledge and relationships with the land.
